Andreas H. Bitesnich, an internationally renowned Austrian photographer born in Vienna in 1964, is celebrated for his captivating imagery characterized by beauty and aesthetic sensitivity. His portfolio encompasses two distinct yet equally compelling realms: nude photography exuding an elegant, sculptural quality that accentuates form, and streetscapes capturing the pulsating energy and gritty allure of some of the world's most famous cities. Discovering his passion for photography at 24, Bitesnich embarked on a self-taught journey spanning over three decades. Through meticulous skill development and aesthetic refinement, he set new standards in nude photography and garnered international acclaim for his work. A keen traveller, Bitesnich has a gift for capturing the essence of the cities he traverses. His spontaneous, boldly exposed images vividly convey the spirit of vibrant metropolises such as Lisbon, Paris, New York, and Tokyo. Employing dramatic lighting techniques reminiscent of film noir, he effortlessly transports viewers on immersive journeys through his lens. Bitesnich's artworks have been exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, with solo exhibitions at esteemed venues including the Museum for Decorative Arts and Crafts in Hamburg and the Kunsthaus Wien or the Museu Coleção Berardo in Lisbon. His illustrious career is punctuated by numerous accolades, and his work has been featured in over twenty book titles, including the acclaimed Momentum, On Form, INDIA, and his ongoing Deeper Shades Series. Most recently, his lens captured the life and creative process of the iconic composer Philip Glass in the publication Philip Glass: dots on Paper, further solidifying his status as a masterful visual storyteller.
